Leander Officer Creates Punny Paean To Policing Profession, Expressing Love For His Job

Despite a typical backlash to puns, viewers have taken to the Snapchat video that has reached 15,000 views and counting.

LEANDER, TX -- Now this is punny stuff, and a great way to usher in the weekend.

A school resource officer under the Leander Police Department at Rouse High School produced a mock PSA conveying his love of policing, CBS Austin reported. He did so with humor and an abundance of puns.

It's been said puns are the lowest form of comedy, and many people don't care for them. You wouldn't know it from the response to the officer's video, which has been viewed more than 15,000 times.

He offers a tribute to his line of work via a Snapchat filter. He makes his points through the use of puns playing off the various filters he chose to make his presentation.

His fellow officers at the Leander Police Department posted the video on their own page. It's unclear if they did so out of admiration or gentle ribbing of a colleague. Their caption "Be careful what you post on Snapchat" could convey either motivation for the video's sharing.
