Leander Police Seek Car Burglary Suspect (Video)
Footage recorded from a car's dashcam video shows man smashing window of parked vehicle to get to the contents of the center console.

LEANDER, TX — Leander police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man seen on surveillance footage breaking into a car to steal property.
The police department posted the footage, taken from the car's dashcam, on its Facebook page. The video shows a man breaking into a parked vehicle along the 100 block of South U.S. 183 while the owner entered store to make a purchase.
After smashing a window of the vehicle, the man is seen taking property from the car's center console. The suspect is described as an African American males in his early to mid 20s standing between five feet, six inches and five feet, nine inches, with a slim build. He appears to have short hair and a mustache.

Although police posted the footage on social media, they urge residents who may recognize the man not to identify him publicly on the platform. Instead, they ask residents to contact Officer Brittany Pesseh at (512) 528-2800 or direct message police on their page. Those with information should reference case number 19-1576.
