Leander Residents: Get Ready For Spring Cleanup Day
Ahead of April 13 curb pickup of unwanted items, city officials outlined a primer on what will and what won't be picked up by crews.

LEANDER, TEXAS — Mark you calendar, Leander residents, as it's almost time for spring cleanup. To that end, city officials have outlined dos and don'ts related to what kind of refuse is acceptable to put on curbs to be hauled away.
Residential Spring Cleanup day is scheduled on Saturday, April 13, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the city's Public Works facility located on 607 Municipal Dr. Spring Cleanup is a free, non-hazardous waste drop-off event for Leander residents in partnership with Al Clawson Disposal.

- You must show two forms of identification — Please bring a copy of your City of Leander Utilities bill and your Texas driver license.
- The same physical address must appear on both forms of ID.

- Bring items in their original containers and properly sealed.
- NO commercial contractors.
- DO NOT mix or consolidate items.
- DO NOT leave items curbside.
- Keep containers and items in the trunk or rear of your vehicle and away from passengers.
- All items must be delivered to the Public Works address.
Accepted items (residential quantities only)
- Automobile batteries, brush and yard waste, furniture, lumber and old fences, mattresses, motor oil, paper products, cardboard, scrap metal
- Paper documents — onsite shredding available
- Vehicle tires — NO MORE than four tires, NO rims
NOT Accepted (household hazardous waste)
- Chemicals, containers larger than five gallons, dioxins or pesticides, electronics or appliances, freon, gas or propane cylinders, glass
- Explosives, ammunition or fireworks
- Industrial or commercial waste
- Medical or pharmaceutical waste
- Narcotics
- Paint or paint cans

Additional disposal fees may apply. The Williamson County Landfill and Hutto Recycling Center are owned by Williamson County and operated by Waste Management.
