Leander School District Names New Bagdad Elementary Principal

Christine Hilbun has been with the district since 2004, most recently as assistant principal of Whetstone Elementary.

LEANDER, TX -- Bagdad Elementary has a new principal, Leander ISD officials announced this week.

Christine Hilbun was tapped to lead the school, the school district's Superintendent Bret Champion said on May 10. Hilbun has been with the district since 2004, serving as a teacher, instructional coach and, most recently, assistant principal at Whetstone Elementary.

"I am excited to announce Christy HIlbun as the new principal for Bagdad Elementary," Champion said in a prepared statement. “Christy’s passion for learning, thorough knowledge of curriculum and her instructional leadership will serve the Bagdad students, staff and community well.”

Hilbun earned her bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock and her master’s degree from Lamar University in Beaumont.
