Leander Updates Residents On New Legislation With Direct Impact
A slew of new bills (more than 800) were passed by Legislature to take effect Sept. 1. Two in particular have a direct impact on residents.

LEANDER, TX — Leander city officials provided an update on two pieces of recently passed legislation that will have a direct impact on residents, House Bill 3167 and House Bill 2439.
The former requires all Texas cities and counties to respond to a subdivision plat application, or several other types of applications, within 30 days. Effective Sept. 1, the new legislation will impact how the City of Leander reviews concept plans, preliminary plats, construction plans, final plats, amended final plats, and short form final plats.
For its part, HB 2439 limits local regulation of building materials in new construction.
