Man Charged With Crashing Into Bank To Rob It

Denzel Ogolla, 19, of Leander has been charged with burglary, a state felony punishable by up to two years in jail.

LEANDER, TX — A man was arrested for breaking into a Leander bank by crashing his car through the front doors of the business, according to a published report.

Denzel Ogolla, 19, of Leander crashed his car all the way to the teller counter, the Austin American-Statesman reported, referencing an arrest affidavit. The incident occurred Nov. 3 at the South Star Bank, 10737 E. Crystal Falls Parkway.

A surveillance video showed the crash through the front doors and into the lobby area of the bank, as well as the man getting out of his car, jumping over the teller counter, according to the report.

Ogolla was charged with burglary, a state jail felony punishable by up to two years in jail. He was being held at the Williamson County Jail on Friday with a bail set at $30,000, according to public records.
