No Charges Expected In Cedar Park Drowning

Police deemed drowning of 4-year-old child in backyard swimming pool on Friday night was accidental, and criminal charges will not be filed.

CEDAR PARK, TX — No charges are expected to be filed in connection to the drowning of a 4-year-old child over the weekend as the incident is deemed to have been accidental, a police spokeswoman said on Monday.

The child drowned in a backyard swimming pool at a home on Turkey Path Bend at around 7 p.m. on Friday night, according to police. Despite extensive resuscitation efforts, the child was pronounced dead at the scene.

A police spokeswoman wrote in an email the case was still under investigation, but noted no criminal charges will be filed.
