Passed Out Drunk On Movie Theater Stairwell, Leander Woman Charged With Child Endangerment

Police say Kaylan Walker was intoxicated to the point she was unable to properly care for four children she took to see movies.

LEANDER, TX — A Leander mom to four children faces charges of child endangerment after police said she passed out drunk at a movie theater, leaving her kids unattended as a result.

Kaylan Walker, 36, is said to have drunk so much that she passed out on the stairs of a movie theater on Dec. 17, KXAN reported. Three of the children ranging from 2 to 4 years old are Walker's while a fourth is a neighbor's child, the station reported while citing an arrest affidavit released Monday.

Workers at the movie theater told police a 4-year-old child alerted them their mom was asleep in the theater, the station reported. That's when she was found sleeping on the stairs, according to the affidavit.

The children were instructed to stay close to their mom until she woke up, as the 4-year-old told officers she was worried about her mother driving home in the condition in which she found herself. The woman merely blinked in response when asked if she was asleep, according to the report

A test for intoxication later determined the woman was too drunk to take care of the children, KXAN reported. The woman told police she had planned to drive home after the movie, but was unable to tell police the name of the movie she had gone to see with the children, the station noted.
