Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Leander

Driver ran over man lying on roadway along 500 block of Horizon Park Boulevard on Monday evening, police said.

LEANDER, TX — A pedestrian was killed on Monday evening after he was struck by a vehicle in Leander, officials said.

The incident occurred at around 7:45 p.m. along the 500 block of Horizon Park Boulevard, police said in a press advisory. Police said a woman driving a gray Ford pickup truck traveling southbound near the artery struck a man who was lying on the roadway.

The driver remained at the scene awaiting for police to arrive, officials noted. The victim, described only as a Caucasian man, was transported to St. David's Round Rock Medical Center where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police noted the driver showed no signs of impairment.

"This investigation is still ongoing," police noted in a press advisory. "Criminal charges have not been filed at this time and, pending notification of family, the identity of the white male will not be released."
