Portions Of Brushy Creek Regional Trail Will Be Closed Until Next Year

Tuesday was the first day of the long closure that's needed to make needed improvements and mandated dam-related construction.

Cedar Park, TX -- Tuesday marked the first day a portion of Brushy Creek Regional Trail was closed, the first day of a closure that's expected to continue through the fall of 2017.

Williamson County officials said the trail will be closed on Upper Brushy Creek Dam No. 7 from Brushy Creek Lake Park to Champion Park. The closures is required in order to make improvements and construction of the Dam 7 Modernization Project.

"An alternate trail route is currently available along Brushy Creek Road that connects Brushy Creek Lake Park with Champion Park," county spokeswoman Connie Watson said in a press release. "Both parks will remain open during construction with facilities and rentals available to the public."
