St. David’s HealthCare Opens Emergency Center In Leander
Located at 601 St. David's Loop between Highway 183 and the 183A Toll Road on San Gabriel Parkway, facility will offer 24/7 medical care.

LEANDER, TX — Officials at St. David's Round Rock Medical Center on Monday announced the opening of an emergency center in Leander as an extension of the existing medical center.
The St. David's Emergency Center is located at 601 St. David's Loop between Highway 183 and the 183A Toll Road on San Gabriel Parkway. It serves as an extension of St. David's Round Rock Medical Center, a Level II Trauma center. Hospital officials said the 11,200-square-foot emergency center will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as a full-service emergency department.
"St. David's Round Rock Medical Center is pleased to bring comprehensive emergency care to the Leander community," Jeremy Barclay, chief executive officer of St. David's Round Rock Medical Center, said. "This emergency center is the first phase of what will eventually become a community hospital."

Barclay added the facility effectively brings high-quality medical care to one of the nation's fastest-growing regions with the site's opening.
The emergency center is staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians affiliated with St. David's HealthCare, officials said. Moreover, staffing includes nurses trained in emergency care, officials added. The facility features a dozen treatment beds and advanced testing capabilities, including radiological testing and a medical lab.

Pending construction of the hospital, patients requiring inpatient care will be transported from the facility to area hospitals, officials said.

St. David's Round Rock Medical Center has named Dr. Will Davis as medical director of St. David's Emergency Center in Leander. Davis has worked at St. David's Round Rock Medical Center for the past 11 years, and currently is co-medical director of the hospital's emergency department. He earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and in ethics and religion from the University of Oklahoma before attending medical school at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences. He then completed his residency at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago.
The emergency center has been staffed with 25 employees, including nurses, imaging personnel, laboratory personnel, registration staff and support personnel, according to officials. Moreover, the future opening of the community hospital is expected to create more than 200 jobs, company officials added.
