'State Of Leander' Luncheon Scheduled
Tickets are selling fast for Jan. 22 event during which residents will hear a detailed presentation on municipal milestones over last year.

LEANDER, TEXAS — Residents wishing to hear a detailed presentation on municipal milestones over the last year are invited to attend the annual "State of Leander" luncheon later this month.
The luncheon is a popular event for engaged residents, and tickets are selling out fast. Those purchasing a ticket also have the option of purchasing an Annual Lunch Pass to get two lunches for free. With the latter option, "...you never need to register and are always guaranteed a seat," officials said.
The event is scheduled Tuesday, Jan. 22, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hill Country Bible Church Leander, 11880 Hero Way West, Suite 600. Those needing further information can contact Chastidy Vernengo at (512) 259-1907 or via email at office@leandercc.org.

Leander has been experiencing brisk growth over the last few years, having recently hit the 50,000 mark in terms of population. With a growth rate of more than 11 percent — that's an average of 16 people moving in each day — Leander is now the fastest growing city with 50,000-plus population in the country, city officials note on the municipal website
"With almost 1,600 single family housing starts last year and a number of new multifamily projects either open or under construction there seems to be no stopping the city’s expansion," city officials wrote on the city's website.
