Talking Trash: Cedar Park Launches Waste Diversion Master Plan

City officials want members of the public involved in development of 20-year plan in managing solid waste stream.

CEDAR PARK, TEXAS — City officials want to talk trash. Officials have begun developing its Residential Waste Diversion Master Plan — a critical step in determining how the city will manage its solid waste stream for the next 20 years — and want members of the public to be involved in the planning.

An upcoming meeting scheduled Wednesday, Sept. 12 will provide a brief overview of key topics that will help guide the city on how to provide residential solid waste and recycling services in the future, with an emphasis increasing diversion. The meeting will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with a formal presentation, Q&A and an opportunity for public input.

The gathering will take place at the Cedar Park Recreation Center, 1435 Main St. Community Rooms. This will be the first of three planned meetings on the waste diversion plan. Those wishing to attend the event should RSVP through on Facebook.
