Two Concurrent 40-Year Sentences In Cedar Park Break-In, Attempted Sexual Assault

CEDAR PARK, TX — A man charged with attempted sexual assault of a woman during a 2015 home invasion was sentenced to two 40-year prison sentences to run concurrently, according to a published report.

Clarence Alexander Richardson, 28, pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit sexual assault in a a plea agreement, the Austin American-Statesman reported. As a result, the judge handed down the long sentence on Wednesday.

Richardson accessed a second-story window at the victim's Cedar Park home via the top of a back patio before attacking her in the shower, according to an arrest affidavit referenced by the newspaper. The charges to which Richardson pleaded guilty are first-degree felonies punishable by up to 99 years in prison.
