Vacancy Of Cedar Park City Council Place Four

Completed and notarized Applications must be received in-hand by the deadline.

Pursuant to the Cedar Park City Charter, Councilmember Mike Guevara has resigned from Council Place Four, and the City Council declared the position vacant effective October 8, 2020.

Also pursuant to the City Charter and the Council Rules of Procedure, this vacancy will be filled by a Council appointment for the remainder of the current unexpired term. The appointee will serve until a candidate is elected from the November 3, 2020 Election and sworn in, which is anticipated to occur at the November 19, 2020 City Council Meeting.

ACCEPTANCE OF CANDIDATE APPLICATIONS

All interested applicants must submit a completed and notarized Application, Letter of Interest, and a Resume to the City Secretary BY NO LATER THAN 5:00 P.M. ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2020.

Completed and notarized Applications must be received in-hand by the deadline. Applications may be submitted electronically, provided they are complete and notarized – the City Secretary will NOT notarize any signature she does not personally witness or any electronic signature. Postmarking is not sufficient for meeting the deadline requirement. Applications will be made public with minor redaction of confidential information per State statute.

INTERVIEW PROCESS FOR CANDIDATES

All applicants will be interviewed by the City Council at the Regular Scheduled City Council Meeting to be held on Thursday, October 22, 2020. All applicants must be in attendance and available for interview by the City Council in order to be considered.
The appointed candidate will be sworn in and expected to begin service immediately.
