Williamson County To Close Offices, Functions During Holidays

Commissioners court won't meet again until Jan. 9, animal shelter open Christmas Eve and tree recycling will begin day Dec. 26.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — County officials have released the dates for office closures over the holidays.

Williamson County offices will be closed for the Christmas holiday on Dec. 25 and Dec. 26, and on Jan. 1 for the New Year’s holiday. The Commissioners Court will not meet Dec. 26, or on Jan. 2, 2018. The first regularly scheduled meeting of 2018 will be on Tuesday, Jan. 9, starting at 9:30 a.m.

The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, 1855 S.E. Inner Loop in Georgetown, will be open Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed on Christmas Day, and will be open New Year’s Eve 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be closed New Year’s Day.

The Williamson County Landfill, 600 Landfill Road in Hutto, will accept Christmas trees for recycling Dec. 26 through January 13, 2018, free of charge for Williamson County residents. Flocked trees are not accepted for recycling. The landfill will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
