WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — A burn ban that had been implemented in Williamson County was lifted on Friday, just as powerful thunderstorms descended upon the region.

The ban officially lifted by County Judge Dan A. Gattis. Despite the burn ban lifting, officials urge residents to be cautious with outdoor burning activity.

Prior to conducting control burns, officials urge residents to contact their local fire department as some require a burn permit prior to ignition. Also, residents should call and report their control burn to Williamson County Communications at (512) 864-8282 so that officials can inform of any burning restrictions that may be in effect in the area.
