Williamson County Office To Be Closed On Martin Luther King Jr. National Holiday

But the animal shelter will be open, offering lower adoption fees in honor of the new year.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — All county offices will be closed for the Martin Luther King Jr. national holiday.

County offices will resume normal operations by Tuesday, Jan. 17. But on Monday, forget about it. You might want to take care of any business on Friday (if you're reading this on Jan. 13 during normal business hours) or you're out of luck.

In announcing the closures, county officials take the opportunity to note that the holiday might yield an opportunity to adopt a pet and provide it with a forever home. The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter at 1855 S.E. Inner Loop in Georgetown, will be open regular hours from noon to 6 p.m.

In honor of the new year, WCRAS is offering adult dogs and cats for only $20.17 to adopt this month, county officials said. Kittens and puppies are only $75 to adopt. All adopted pets are micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and fully vetted, officials noted.
