Williamson County Officials Staging Two Child Safety Seat Inspection Sessions

Inspection events are offered at no cost, but available by appointment only.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — Williamson County Emergency Medical Services is joining local partners in conducting a pair of child seat safety inspections this month.

Inspection events are offered at no cost, but available by appointment only.

The first safety check is scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. this Friday, May 12, at The Learning Experience, 1821 Westinghouse Road, in Georgetown, Texas. Members of the Georgetown Fire Department and WilCo EMS will be available to answer questions about car seat safety, ensuring seats are installed properly, and will check that the child is secured properly. On Monday, May 15, WilCo EMS will join Austin/Travis County EMS, Taylor ISD Family Services, and volunteers from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to conduct a safety seat and booster check event for area residents from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Inspections will take place in the parking lot of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2800 North Drive, in Taylor, Texas. Funding for the safety seat project is provided in part by Capital Area Trauma Regional Advisory Council (CATRAC) and Safe Riders, a traffic safety program provided by Texas Department of State Health Services in cooperation with TxDOT. Safety seat checks are planned on a regular basis throughout Williamson County.
