WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS — County officials celebrated the addition of more than 50 recreation vehicle parking sites at the Expo Center in Taylor on Wednesday.

Water and electricity connections are provided at each of the 51 sites, with 23 of them also outfitted with wastewater connections. Additionally, one site is designated for Park Host duties, officials said.

“These RV sites are a welcomed addition and will contribute to even greater economic development in the area,” Williamson County Judge Dan Gattis said in a prepared statement.

Designed by Halff Associates, the project was constructed by Champion Site Prep. Partial funding came from a $500,000 grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund Program Project with funding assistance via the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service, administered by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Recreation Grants Branch. The remaining $1.3 million was funded with voter approved park bonds.

“I’m excited to have this new addition to our Expo Center," Precinct 4 Commissioner Larry Madsen said in a prepared statement. "It doesn’t seem that long since we broke ground on this project, and soon we will have these sites available for the public to use."
