• Texas secures 650 acres for future state park expansion (ktsm.com) — A new 650-acre state park is planned along Lake Palestine in Henderson County, roughly halfway between Chandler and Moore Station, giving local residents closer access to camping, trails, and lakefront recreation. Funded through a $10 million purchase by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation, the land will be restored and then transferred to the state in 2027 to expand public outdoor space in East Texas.
