• Antique Tool Museum accepts two additions (coloradocountycitizen.com) — Columbus residents can now see a historic handcrafted wheelbarrow and ice tongs newly added to the Antique Tool Museum at the Columbus Historic Preservation Trust complex. The artifacts, tied to early settler families, deepen the story of Uncle Billy Alley and local craftsmanship. You can visit the museum and 1836 Alley Log Cabin at Bowie and Washington Streets, with the Dilue Rose Harris House open by appointment. 
• Columbus approves 5.48% tax rate increase (coloradocountycitizen.com) — Columbus City Council has approved a 5.48% property tax rate increase, raising the city rate to $0.301172 per $100 valuation and adding about $44 to the median homeowner’s annual bill. The lower-than-proposed hike may delay or shrink planned street repaving later in the 2026–27 fiscal year, though officials hope sales tax revenue and careful spending could still fund some work. Leaders also urged residents to stay engaged in future budget talks.
