2 More COVID-19 Deaths, 49 New Cases In Montgomery County

Two New Caney residents died in the hospital after testing positive. The active case count dropped 27 to 1,791 since Wednesday.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX — The Montgomery County Public Health District confirmed via Twitter the deaths of two New Caney residents with COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the total to 276.

Officials confirmed a woman in her 50s and a man in his 70s died while hospitalized with the virus, with both having co-morbidities.

The Public Health District confirmed 49 new cases, bringing the total to 50,915 to date, but reported a dip in active cases from Wednesday from 1,818 to 1,791. Hospitalizations in the county fell from 99 to 96, and 99 county residents are confirmed through contact investigations to be in a hospital, five less than Wednesday.
