- Organizations around Houston and Montgomery County are pitching in to help victims of Hurricane Ida. Some are heading to Louisiana to aid in search and rescue, while others are organizing efforts to help displaced Louisianans in Houston. (KPRC Click2Houston)
- As active cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in Montgomery ISD, the district is hiring substitutes in teaching and staff positions to fill in for absent employees. (Conroe-Montgomery County Patch)
- A Montgomery County jury sentenced a man to 60 years in prison after finding him guilty of a pair of family violence charges. Chadrick Eugene Bradley will serve two 60 year sentences concurrently. (Woodlands Online)
- Two Black men are filing a lawsuit against Walmart after a 2020 incident at a Conroe store in which they were arrested while trying to return a TV. Dennis Stewart and Terrance Richardson claim the TV was defective and that employees accused them of stealing. They allege they were discriminated against and wrongfully arrested because of their race. (Complex)
- Montgomery County Veterans Commission Chairman Jimmie Edwards III designed a flag to commemorate first responders. The former state representative and county judge went through hundreds of iterations before settling on one oozing with symbolism. (The Courier)
