Colorado Man Drowns In Lake Conroe

Man and his family were visiting Lake Conroe on a two week fishing trip from Durango, Colorado.

WILLIS, TX -- A 69-year old Colorado man who was vacationing on Lake Conroe, died Monday after he fell in the water and drowned at Lochness Marina RV Park.

EMS officials were called to the 14500 block of Calvary Road after family members found the man floating in the water.

Two of the man’s family members left at about 9 a.m. for breakfast, and returned shortly after 10 a.m. and found him floating in the water.

His fishing gear was still on shore, near where his body was recovered.

Officials said family members pulled the man from the water and started CPR until help arrived, but were not successful.

The man, whose identity has not been released, had a history of medical problems, which may have contributed to his death, officials said.

The family was visiting from Durango, Colorado on a two week fishing trip.
