Conroe Child Dies With COVID-19: MCPHD
The Montgomery Co. Public Health District confirmed the death of a child under age 9. Vaccine appointments are available on its website.
CONROE, TX — A child under the age of 9 from Conroe died in the hospital after testing positive for COVID-19, the Montgomery County Public Health District confirmed via Twitter on Thursday.
The child had an extensive medical history and co-morbidities, according to MCPHD.
“We offer our condolences to her family at this difficult time,” MCPHD said in a tweet.

Montgomery County added 24 confirmed COVID-19 cases Thursday, bringing the total to 51,582. There are 1,675 active cases in the county, down 67 from Wednesday’s total. There are 93 people in Montgomery County hospitals with COVID-19, down three from Wednesday, with 27 of those occupying ICU beds.

MCPHD is taking appointments for first doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. First doses will be administered at Woodforest Bank Stadium in Shenandoah on Monday. All adults age 18 and over are eligible. Register for an appointment here.
