Conroe ISD 2020-2021 Budget Includes Proposed Tax Rate Decrease
Conroe ISD has the second lowest tax rate in the Houston area at approximately 15 cents below our peer districts' average tax rate.

On Tuesday, August 4, Conroe ISD held a public hearing on the preliminary 2020-2021 budget. Key components of the proposed budget include accommodating an additional 1,500 students, funding to meet the requirements of House Bill 3 and costs related to COVID-19, as well as a raise for all employees. CFO Darrin Rice also provided information on the 2020-2021 proposed tax rate of $1.2125, which is 1.75 cents lower than the 2019-2020 tax rate of $1.23 and 6.75 cents lower than the 2018-2019 tax rate of $1.28. Conroe ISD has the second lowest tax rate in the Houston area at approximately 15 cents below our peer districts’ average tax rate.
