Conroe Teen’s Murder Trial Set For February
Joseph Gaige Blunt faces a possible life sentence for the murder of Mark Anthony Guidry Jr. during a botched drug deal

CONROE, TX — A 19-year old Conroe man will face a jury in 2018 for the shooting death of a 22-year old man in January 2017.
A Montgomery County grand jury indicted Joseph Gaige Blunt on Dec. 12 for first degree murder in the shooting death of Mark Anthony Guidry Jr., 22, n what investigators described as a botched drug deal
Blunt is accused of shooting Guidry to death, and faces additional charges of felony deadly conduct for firing the weapon inside the car where four others who’d accompanied Guidry to buy drugs from Blunt.

Investigators said Blunt believe the group intended to take the drugs without paying, and started shooting, hitting Guidry in the head, the Conroe Courier reported.
Guidry’s friends drove him to Conroe Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Blunt was arrested at the scene, located 11800 block of Megan Road near Willis, and taken to the Montgomery County Jail where he has been held under $100,000 bond since.
Blunt faces a possible sentence of life in prison, if he is convicted.
His trial is set to being in February.
