COVID-19 Active Cases Decreasing In Montgomery County Schools

Conroe ISD and Montgomery ISD have seen declining COVID-19 indicators. Here is more information on COVID-19 in Montgomery County schools.

CONROE-MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX — Active cases of COVID-19 appear on a downward trajectory in Montgomery County.

Active cases in the county decreased 1,544 over the weekend to a total of 11,303, the Montgomery County Public Health District reported in its Monday update. Despite the decrease, health authorities warned that COVID-19 indicators were still at high levels in the county.

Montgomery County schools are seeing a decrease in active cases as well. At its peak, Conroe ISD was reporting between 200 and 300 new cases per day in late August and early September, with a spike of 487 new cases between students and staff on Aug. 23. That number has steadily decreased and the district reported 51 new cases Tuesday.

Montgomery ISD had a peak of 523 active cases among students and staff on Aug. 31, and the district's active case count was down to 13 in Tuesday's update.
