Early Morning Fire Damages Bear Branch Middle School
Fire started in second floor classrooms. Students and teachers were out for Christmas break and expected back next week.

MAGNOLIA, TX -- Fire officials are investigating the cause of a blaze that erupted on the second floor at a middle school just after midnight Wednesday.
The fire erupted at about 12:20 a.m. inside two second floor classrooms at Bear Branch Middle School, located in the 31300 block of FM 2978, just north of The Woodlands Parkway.
Fire crews from The Woodlands, Magnolia, Needham, and Lake Conroe were dispatched to the blaze.

There were no injuries reported of any school district personnel or firefighters.
The classrooms sustained heavy fire and smoke damage, according to fire officials.

The campus has been closed since Dec. 16 when classes were dismissed for the winter break, and in observance of Christmas and the New Year’s Day.
The fire remains under investigation as crews working to repair the damage from the fire.
Officials in Magnolia ISD said teachers are expected back on campus on Monday, Jan.2, while classes resume for students on Jan. 4.
