FedEx Announces Expansion With Planned Conroe Facility

Conroe facility will be 78,000 square feet ad employ 96 full time employees.

CONROE, TX — FedEx is expanding its footprint and has announced plants to build a new freight facility in Conroe.

The Montgomery County Commissioners Court gave their stamp approval on a tax abatement on Tuesday.

FedEx plans to purchase 45.5 acres in the Conroe Park North Industrial Park to build its 78,000 square foot distribution center, at a cost of about $18 million.

The new center, once it is completed, will create 96 jobs and 35 part time jobs in the Conroe area.

In March 2016, FedEx officials hosted a beam signing ceremony for the company’s new hub in Cypress on the Grand Parkway.

The Cypress facility, which was projected to open in August, will be one of the largest logistics facilities in the U.S. when it is fully staffed by 2022.

The Cypress facility was part of the company’s network expansion, primarily into the Houston area, which is the logistics leading center in the U.S.
