The Montgomery County Commissioners Court gave their stamp approval on a tax abatement on Tuesday. FedEx plans to purchase 45.5 acres in the Conroe Park North Industrial Park to build its 78,000 square foot distribution center, at a cost of about $18 million. The new center, once it is completed, will create 96 jobs and 35 part time jobs in the Conroe area. FedEx Corp.has been expanding into the Houston market in recent years. In March 2016, FedEx officials hosted a beam signing ceremony for the company's new hub in Cypress on the Grand Parkway. The Cypress facility, which was projected to open in August, will be one of the largest logistics facilities in the U.S. when it is fully staffed by 2022.
