The unofficial title belongs to River Plantation resident Judy Marshall, 79, who has been a force when it comes to organizing relief efforts and volunteers to clean up the neghborhood she loves.

Marshall said many of the residents who are older are still rebuilding and they are still looking for volunteers to continue with the help of cleaning up and rebuilding.

What isn't lost is the efforts of organizations and businesses like Kroger and HEB stores that are donating thousands of bags and the local C-Store, which is providing water for volunteers and able-bodied volunteers from the Boys and Girl Scouts.

Marshall told the Courier they are still looking for someone to provide sponsoreship for food for the volunteers, and of course any able-bodied volunteer is welcome.

Marshall will host an organizational meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at 728 Hogan Drive in River Plantation to coordinate volunteers for the next clean up coming soon.

If you can't come and would like to help, send Marshall an email at bikinjudy@yahoo.com.
