Hurricane Harvey: Conroe Evacuates Residents Near Swollen Lake Conroe Dam
With more rain on the way, city officials plan a release of water to alleviate the flooding potential of Lake Conroe.

CONROE, TX — Evacuations are underway of residents living near the Lake Conroe Dam after officials in Montgomery County announced plans to release water from the swollen dam.
Officials in Conroe began the mandatory evacuation of residents in McDade Estates, downstream of Lake Conroe, on Sunday evening, but announced plans to expand their evacuation plans to other neighborhoods.

Those neighborhoods include residents living in areas off FM 2854 and near Riverbrook Drive and Sherbrook Circle.
The remaining neighborhoods in Conroe to be evacuated include Woodhaven Forest, River Plantation and Artesian
