Lake Conroe Boat Crash Kills Couple, Injures Daughter
The 10-year-old daughter called authorities and was able to lead them to the scene.

CONROE, TX -- A couple is dead after a boat crash on Lake Conroe on Tuesday, and their 10-year-old daughter is injured. The daughter was able to call 911 after the crash, alerting responders to their location. The father was pronounced dead at the scene. The mother was taken to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Jason Clark, 39, of Magnolia, was on his bass boat with his wife and daughter when another boat collided with them. The other boat, according to Click 2 Houston, was going to shore for a weigh-in deadline when they crashed into the Clark family's boat.
The boats were reportedly well-lit, causing confusion as to how the accident happened. "There's lots of lights from all the houses, so sometimes it's hard to distinguish the running lights on your boat from a house light," fisherman John Jay told Click 2 Houston.

The two men on the other boat were found in the water uninjured. Clark's wife also had to be rescued from the water.
Investigators say the 10-year-old girl called 911 around 9:22 p.m. Praising the girl's actions and descriptive abilities, Lt. Time Cade told Click 2 Houston "Before we arrived on scene we knew where we were going. We knew what we were coming up on. We knew what we had to do before [even] getting there."
