Magnolia Man Arrested In Road Rage Shooting Death

Christopher Delacruz followed Jose Lozado home and shot him twice outside his home after a minor traffic accident: Police

MAGNOLIA, TX — A 21-year old man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly shot a 56-year old man to death during a road rage incident, investigators said.

Christopher Delacruz is charged with murdering Jose Augusto Lozado, after witnesses said Delacruz shot Lozado to death outside his home in the 29400 block of Aberdeen Drive in Magnolia. According to a Houston Chronicle report, investigators with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said Delacruz and Lozado were involved in a minor traffic accident at the intersection of Aberdeen Dr. and Highland Blvd., that turned into a verbal disturbance.

Deputies said Delacruz followed Lozado home, got out of his vehicle with a semi-automatic handgun, and shot Lozado in the head and torso.

According to a KPRC report, Lozado’s family members who were there trying to comfort Jose Lozado after he’d been shot, said Delacruz pointed his gun at them, before speeding off in his pickup.

Deputies found Delacruz not far from the shooting scene, waiting in his pickup.

He was arrested without incident and taken to the Montgomery County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
