Magnolia Teenager Killed In Head-On Crash During AM Storms
Investigators said rain and wind may have caused teen driver to cross into on-coming traffic.

MAGNOLIA, TX -- A Magnolia High School student was killed in a head-on collision early Tuesday as storms were moving though the Houston area.
The crash happened at 7:15 a.m. on FM 149 and Jackson Road, according to investigators with the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Investigators said that 18-year old Darian Eckhardt, a senior at Magnolia High School, was traveling south on FM 149, when she she crossed the center line on a two-lane road and hit an 18-wheeler truck head-on.

The speed limit on FM 149 is posted at 55 miles per hour, but investigators are not sure if she was driving or above the posted speed, or if the weather caused her to lose control of the car she was driving.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.

DPS Troopers interviewed and released the driver of the 18-wheeler, who was not charged.
