Magnolia West High School Student Killed Weeks Before Graduation

MAGNOLIA, TX — Police are investigating the fatal accident that claimed the life of a 19-year old Magnolia West High School Sunday night.

Dustin Parmley was just a few weeks away from walking across the stage to receive his high school diploma, when he was killed in a rollover accident on State Highway 249 north of Decker Prairie Road.

According to investigators, Parmley was a passenger in a 2009 Pontiac G8 that was driven by his brother, 22-year old Aaron Johnson.

Investigators said Johnson was traveling south on Texas 249 at a high rate of speed, when a car pulled into his lane from Pinedale Loop.

Johnson swerved to avoid the car, and rolled several times investigators said.

Parmley was taken by LifeFlight to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Johnson is in serious condition at Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands, officials said.

Parmely was the the third Magnolia area student to die in a traffic accident in 2017.

On Feb. 14, Magnolia High School senior Darian Eckhardt, 18, was killed when she lost control of her car during a heavy rainstorm and slammed head-on into an 18-wheeler on State Highway 149, on her way to school.

The next day, Alyssa Ann Mills, 21 a junior at Sam Houston State University, was killed in a traffic accident on FM 1488, when she crossed the center line near Lake Lamont Drive and hit a GMC Yukon head-on.

Meanwhile, friends of the Magnolia West High School student have set up a GoFundMe Page to help raise money for funeral expenses.
