CONROE, TX -- An event that was expected to draw business leaders and chamber members with The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce frustrated with the high costs and loss of coverage associated with the Affordable Care Act, instead drew protests from Obamacare supporters who’ve reportedly taken exception to the stance of House Republicans.
U.S. Rep Kevin Brady (R-The Woodlands), who called the Affordable Care Act a failed experiment that has hurt small businesses told supporters that he expected a repeal of Obamacare within the next 30 days, and a new plan in place before the end of 2017.
As Brady solicited thoughts about what they’d like to see in new legislation, Obamacare supporters expressed their disappointment in Republicans and their support for universal healthcare coverage and Planned Parenthood.
"One should not have to choose between a doctor's visit and death," Tim Welbes, president of The Woodlands Development Company read from a letter from a friend who supports Obamacare.
