Montgomery County Constable Injured Tackling Man On Stolen Motorcycle.

Suspect on stolen motorcycle found with drugs and burglary tools, facing additional charges for assault, DWI, evading arrest.

GRANGERLAND, TX -- A Montgomery County Deputy Constable was injured early Tuesday when the tackled a man who’d reportedly stolen a motorcycle in nearby New Caney.

Investigators said that the Precinct 4 deputy constable was on patrol at about 12:30 a.m. when he saw a man on the stolen motorcycle in the parking lot at FM 1485 near Vick Road.

The deputy constable chased the biker into Grangerland to a parking lot, where the biker ditched the motorcycle and began to run from deputies.

The man, identified as Darren Reese, 23, was tacked by the deputy constable who injured his leg in the foot chase and had to be taken to a local hospital by EMS.

Reese, who was not injured, had a backpack in his possession that deputies said contained burglary tools and narcotics.

Reese faces numerous charges including assault on a public servant, evading arrest, possession of a controlled substance, unauthorized use of a vehicle and driving while intoxicated.

His bond is set at $3,000.
