In addition to the in-person collection locations, residents can donate online though the MCFB
Virtual Food Drive at http://mcfoodbank.org/share-your-holidays. Contributions help MCFB
serve the estimated 85,000 Montgomery County residents who struggle to put food on their
family’s table each day. A simple $15 donation will enable MCFB to provide 52 meals for the
food insecure of our community. Through more than 50 partner agencies, MCFB is able to
reach their neighbors in need, helping to make the holidays a bit brighter.
“We are thrilled for the opportunity to partner with ABC-13 for Share Your Holidays, making the
season brighter for our area residents who are most in need”, says Darlene Underwood, Chief
Operating Officer of Montgomery County Food Bank. She continues, “It’s humbling to see so
many people come together to give their neighbors the help they need to ensure they can enjoy
this special time of year.”

Montgomery County Food Bank began in 1985 as a door-to-door operation run out of car trunks
by a small group of volunteers wanting to serve those in need in their community. Throughout
the past 30 years, generous donors have built MCFB into an organization capable of distributing
over 8 million pounds of food annually. The Food Bank also hosts mobile food pantries and
food fairs, offers nutritional education programs and emergency assistance, and provides meal
programs for senior citizens.
