Montgomery County Man Sentenced To 30 Days For Child Indecency

CONROE, TX — A Montgomery County man was sentenced to 30 days in prison, and 10 years deferred adjudication after accepting a plea bargain of indecency with a child by exposure.
Nathaniel Shay McGrew, 40, was convicted on Feb 2 on the lesser charge.
He was originally charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child, and faced a prison term of five-99 years in prison, the Houston Chronicle reported.

McGrew was arrested by Conroe Police after the girl told family members that McGrew had abused her when he was beween he ages of 6-10 years old.
Evidence of abuse was found in text messages that McGrew sent to the girl apologizing for his actions, prosecutors said.

Upon his release, McGrew will have to complete 240 hours of community service as part of his probation and will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
