Halloween 2017: Mapping Montgomery County Sex Offenders

CONROE, TX — Halloween is suppose to be fun. It's that time of year where your children dress up and hopfully score loads of candy and other bags of junkfood.

While it is the start of of the fall holiday season, it's also the time of year where law enforcement are making sure sex offenders are registered and complying with the law.

Parents who want to know where the sex offenders are in their neighborhood, can check the sex offender registry. (Want to get daily news updates and other events going on in your area? Sign up for the free Conroe-Montgomery County Patch morning newsletter.)

However, Patch has created a map you can use in conjunction with the DPS database that can show you were the sex offenders are in your neighborhood.

Prior to the maps being published, the Board of Directors for the National Association for Rational Sexual Offense Laws wrote letters to Patch asking us not to publish this information to our readers. Click the link below to read what they had to say.

Of the 13 registered sex offenders in Montgomery County, 11 had verifiable addresses.

James Braziel, who has been a registered sex offender since 1981, had a listed address of 8701 Miller Memorial Church Lane, Trailer A in Conroe, and David Utchell, who has been in the registery since 2011, has a last known address of 920 IH 45 South Apt 37 in Conroe.

While the map helps for those registered sex offenders, there are others who have not complied with the state and registered.

You can find the sex offenders in your area by checking the DPS Sex Offender Registry, and typing in your address, or zip code.
