Organized Crime Scheme Results In Four Arrests In Conroe

CONROE, TX — Four people were arrested and charged with organized criminal activity after they concocted a scheme to distract a man so they could burglarize his apartment.

The incident was witnessed on July 20 by officials with the Montgomery County Narcotics Enforcement Team, at an apartment complex in the 2200 of Montgomery Park Blvd.

Investigators were conducting surveillance there, when they allegedly saw Devin Patton and Kylie Thibodeaux drive up to the complex in a gray car.

Investigators said Devin Patton got out the car and began speaking with a man outside of his apartment.

While the man was distracted, James Patton and Brooklyn Speaker, who were sitting in a black SUV, got out and allegedly went into the man’s apartment, and came back out a short time later carrying a large black safe and a backpack that they both placed in the SUV, the Conroe Courier reported.

Investigators stopped both cars as they were leaving the parking lot, and allegedly recovered a handgun, 13 grams of cocaine and narcotics paraphernalia.

All four individuals were arrested , and all face multiple charges:

• James Patton, 23, Charged with: possession of a controlled substance, burglary of a habitation, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and engaging in organized criminal activity. He is being held without bond.

• Devin Patton faces a burglary of a habitation charge, and engaging in organized criminal activity.

• Brooklynn Speaker was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, engaging in organized criminal activity. and burglary of a habitation.

• Kylie Thibodeaux was charged with tampering with physical evidence, engaging in organized criminal activity, and burglary of a habitation.

Devon Patton, Speaker and Thibodeaux were later released.
