In 19-5A, Magnolia West will try to split the series against A&M Consolidated after losing to the Tigers on Tuesday night. The Mustangs are in fifth place, one game behind Consol for the final playoff spot. Magnolia holds a two-game lead atop the district with three games to go and will travel to Brenham after beating the Cubs 3-2 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs can clinch at least a share of the 19-5A title with a win.

Porter, which is third in 20-5A trailing first-place Lake Creek and Kingwood Park by a game, looks to keep pace with the top teams. The Spartans will play at Montgomery at 7 p.m. The Bears are tied for fourth with Dayton for the last playoff spot.

In softball action, 20-5A champion Lake Creek (30-0) has its eye on a perfect regular season and will play last-place Caney Creek in the final district game.

Magnolia hosts sixth-place A&M Consolidated at 6:30 p.m. and needs a victory and a Katy Paetow loss to pull even with the Panthers for fourth place and force a play-in game. Paetow plays second-place Waller.
