Splendora PD Dubs Porter Man 'World's Dumbest Criminal'
This Happened: Kevin Doak accidently handed a Splendora cop his crystal meth while paying his friend's bail.
SPLENDORA, TX — Not everyone aspires to be known as the world’s dumbest criminal.
In fact, it just happens sometimes, and that was the case on Dec. 4 when a 33-year Porter man was arrested when he was caught with methamphetamine.
Kevin Doak came willingly into the Splendora Police Department to bail a friend out of jail, who’d been involved in a traffic accident and was arrested on an outstanding city warrant.

Doak brought cash to pay the bail, and when he handed the cash to pay the bail, he also handed the officer a bag of methamphetamine, the Houston Chronicle reported.
Splendora Police Sgt. James Teller said that Doak tried to explain away the meth as harmless table salt, but the experienced officer knew better.

“...he knew it wasn't salt because we have a lot of issues with meth out here," told Chron.com. "The substance was tested and it was positive for meth."
On Wednesday, Splendora Police shared the story of Doak’s encounter with the officer on their Facebook Page.
