Suspect Accused In Shovel Beating Death Is Arrested
Thomas Lyn Barringer is charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury and has bail set at $500,000.

CONROE, TX — A 26-year old Conroe accused of hitting a man in the face with shovel as he slept, is being held in the Montgomery County Jail.
Thomas Lyn Barringer is charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury and has bail set at $500,000.
In the early morning hours of April 27 Barringer allegedly attacked Thomas Massey, hitting him in the face with a shovel handle several times.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home on Charterwood Drive in the Amberwood subdivision in East Montgomery County, where they found Massey badly beaten
Massey was taken to an area hospital with serious life threatening injuries.

He remained in critical condition until his death on May 4.
Officials had been searching for Barringer since the attack and found him on Sunday at Piney Shores Resort.
The charges against Barringer are expected to be upgraded to murder this week.
