Teen Prison Escapees Caught 100 Miles Away From Juvenile Lockup

Two 16-year old felons who escaped the Giddings State School on Saturday night were caught in a stolen car in New Caney on Sunday

NEW CANEY, TX , Two teens felons who escaped from a juvenile lockup in Giddings Saturday night, were arrested in a stolen in New Caney on Sunday evening.

Brice Ryan Karalis and Bryan Ernando Villanueva, both just 16-years old, managed to get out of their dorm rooms and scale a fence at the Giddings State School near Austin and steal a car they found unlocked.

The teens, who are both from the Houston area, drove the stolen car to New Caney, where they were caught nearly 24 hours later.

According to a Houston Chronicle report, a guard at the Giddings facility saw the boys running through the expansive courtyard, but was required to stay with the other juvenile inmates, and lost sight of the boys in the dark.

State Senator John Whitmire (D-Houston) was especially critical of the conditions at the school, and called for a reform of the system.
