Texas Tax Free Weekend 2021: What You Need To Know
Most school supplies and clothing can be purchased tax free this weekend in Texas. Here is your guide for what's eligible and what's not.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX — Kids are headed back to school soon, so that means buying clothes and supplies for the new school year.
Texas residents can save money on those items during its back-to-school sales tax free weekend, which runs from Friday through midnight Sunday.
During tax-free weekend, purchases can be made online, on the phone or in person. The tax exemption will apply for orders online, over the phone or in person as long as the customer pays for the order and the seller accepts the order over tax-free weekend.

Most clothing and school supplies are eligible for tax-free purchases this weekend.
The list excludes jewelry, handbags, most accessories and many types of wearable sports equipment, including all cleats and pads or gloves for football, hockey, soccer, golf and baseball. Items sold for more than $100 also are ineligible.
