Willis Man Gets Life In Prison For Armed Robbery
Montie Eugene Graham, who has a lengthy criminal record, was convicted of the December 2016 robbery of a Compass Bank in Conroe.

CONROE, TX — A 36-year old Willis man was convicted of aggravated robbery by a Montgomery County jury and will spend the rest of his life in prison.
Montie Eugene Graham was sentenced on Nov. 3, and is being held in the Montgomery County Jail awaiting transfer to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Graham was convicted of the Dec. 20, 2016 armed robbery of a BBVA Compass Bank in the 1000 block of Loop 336 in Conroe.

Police arrested Graham at his home on New Year’s Eve, and he was booked into the Montgomery County Jail, where he remained until his trial.
Graham has a lengthy criminal record that includes a conviction in 2000 for the aggravated robbery of a New Waverly grocery store, and a charge of capital murder for the shooting death of 72-year old Joe Hightower at the Turning Point bar in January 2000.

Although Graham was charged with the murder, the charges against him were dismissed after Ronald Lundy, who witnessed Hightower’s murder, died of natural causes, the Montgomery County Police Reporter reported.
Graham will have to serve the next 30 years in prison before he is eligible for parole in 2047.
