The Pacemaker recognizes the very best collegiate broadcasts, magazines, newspapers, online publications and yearbooks.

“The Pacemaker really represents the best of the best, and it is appropriate that we recognize the rich tradition this award has in collegiate journalism as part of our centennial celebration,” said Gary Lungren, ACP associate director.

The Et Cetera began publishing in 1970, the same semester Eastfield College opened its doors and began offering classes. Since then, the program has continued to grow and provide a foundation of excellence in journalism at our college.

The Et Cetera was first named a Pacemaker finalist in 1999 and awarded its first Newspaper Pacemaker more than a decade later in 2011. The publication earned a Website Pacemaker in 2018 and a double Pacemaker in 2019, winning the award for both newspaper and website.

The Pacemaker 100 winners will be recognized at the ACP fall convention and centennial celebration on Oct. 14-17, 2021, in New Orleans.
